Meals & Nutrition
At Kandy Kane Learning Center, we proudly participate in the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), a federally funded nutrition program administered by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). Through this program, we provide healthy, balanced meals and snacks that support each child’s growth, development, and overall well-being.
We believe that healthy children learn better. That’s why we are committed to serving nutritious, well-balanced meals prepared fresh on-site each day. Whenever possible, our fresh fruits and vegetables are sourced from a local vendor right here in Habersham County, allowing us to provide children with fresh, seasonal produce while supporting local businesses in our community.
Each day, children are served:
- Breakfast with fresh fruit and milk.
- Lunch featuring a balanced meal that includes a fresh fruit, a fresh vegetable, milk, and age-appropriate portions of protein and grains.
- Afternoon Snack that includes fresh fruit along with other nutritious options.
All meals and snacks are planned to meet or exceed CACFP nutritional guidelines, ensuring children receive the nutrients they need to grow, learn, and stay active throughout the day.
Monthly menus are posted for families to review. We are happy to accommodate food allergies and physician-documented dietary restrictions whenever possible. If your child has a special dietary need, please notify the office and provide the required medical documentation so we can work together to meet their nutritional needs safely.
At KKLC, we know that healthy eating habits begin early. By providing fresh, nutritious meals every day, we are helping children build a strong foundation for lifelong health while giving families peace of mind that their child is receiving quality nutrition in our care.
